Abstract
The paper discusses the challenges of teaching about climate change, the importance of addressing the systemic issues that contribute to it, and the role of educators in promoting awareness and action. It focuses on extending ecolinguistic approaches to environmental discourse, with a particular focus on how the storying of climate change can inhibit and ena-ble the possibilities for action in how teachers conceptualize and enact ecoliteracies teaching. For instance, climate justice literacies center the consequences and potentials for action, especially for those most affected, and for those who have the most impact on environmental degradation (such as those in the Global North).
